Dear Anthony, I was in touch with you last year about your problem in finding some records on your father. You are right, the "Wheel" was really a place in the form of a wheel where people used to put unwanted newborn babies and it was usually located before churches or monasteries in Naples. So the newborn baby was put in this kind of "wheel" and nobody could know who put him/her there and the priests or nuns would take the baby and take care of him or her.So you understand how difficult it is to find out who his/her parents were or where they came from.But as I already told you, if you come again to Pisciotta you could go to the "Diocesi" of Vallo della Lucania where all the records about baptisms are kept.
