My grandfather, Aniello GUGLIEMELLI, was from Pisciotta/Caprioli and was born sometime around 1889.  He came to the United States and settled in Amsterdam, NY, but left behind two sisters in the Pisciotta area.  I think one of their names was Rosa (Rose) and I don't know the other sister's name; although I understand both sisters married brothers whose last name was D'ANGELO. 

One of these sisters had a daughter who married an Austrian man with the last name of Schmidt (spelling could be incorrect).  The SCHMIDTs moved to the Wilkes Barre, PA where they owned a restaurant in the 1920's/1930's.

Also, one of the GUGLIELMELLI-D'ANGELO sisters (could be Rosa or could be the other one), had a son named PIETRO D'ANGELO who would be in his 90's today and lived, as far as I know, in the same home that had been in the Guglielmelli family for generations in Pisciotta/Caprioli.  Pietro has at least one son who is a chemical engineer in Italy, although I, unfortunately, don't know his name.  My mother (Aniello's daughter) visited Pisciotta/Caprioli about thirty (30) years ago and was thrilled to have had the opportunity to meet her family living in her father's family home.  She, however, does not remember all the relatives names, etc .. and I am trying to re-connect so that when I come to visit, I can be reacquainted with some of our relatives!

I believe my GREAT grandfather's name (Aniello's father) was Gaetano (although I'm not positive this was his first name) GUGLIELMELLI and his wife was Angelina (Angela).  Gaetano may have had at least one sibling that immigrated to South America as one of my aunts, before she died, mentioned having cousins in South America.

If this rings a bell to anyone, I would LOVE to hear of our connection or of any of the GUGLIELMELLI D'ANGELO family that still lives in the Pisciotta area!!
