Josh
Groban's voice -- big as a barn and wont to lean into
barrel-chested swells -- is perfectly attuned to this
set of string-dressed holiday classics. The new-age
back beats and lush production are every bit as
elaborate as anything in his catalog, but the material
(mostly balladic standards like "Ave Maria" and "What
Child Is This?") suits the package perfectly. It's
equally enjoyable when he introduces new classics like
"Thankful" or slightly more obscure traditionals like
"Petit Papa Noel."
